If your adult learner would like to work on poetry but needs some inspiration, click here. On the left they will see a list of poems; help them choose one and follow the directions, adding words when and where instructed. Click on “Create my ___ poem,” and voila, they'll have an instant poem! This site also gives you an example so you can see what yours will look like. Try it out; it’s a lot of fun! 

Every Friday at 3:00 (CST), the American TESOL Institute conducts a free 30 minute webinar on a topic of interest for ESL teachers and tutors. If you complete a webinar, be sure to turn in a short summary to the literacy office for continuing education credit. 

YWCA Tulsa is hosting Citizenship Day on July 28th from 9am-noon at the YWCA East Multicultural Center. This event will provide information to permanent residents who are interested in becoming US citizens. Be sure to take your Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) along with you to qualify for a consultation.
