The City of Tulsa is implementing a location-specific emergency alert system. This system, which launches in June, will alert residents by phone of emergency or threatening events in their area.

All landline phones will automatically be registered to receive emergency notifications. Residents can also opt to be notified by email or to receive a call or text message to a mobile phone.

The system will also push non-emergency notifications to landlands, emails, and mobile phones. To receive these notifications, all residents must opt in. 

Mayor Dewey Bartlett and Tulsa's City Councilors announced a new slate of City Hall in your Neighborhood meetings. These meetings bring together constituents and elected officials to discuss improvements and concerns for the City of Tulsa and its residents.

Upcoming meetings will also focus on information and public comments about funding city needs with the Third Penny Sales Tax and General Obligation Bond Issue. This issue would go to voters in November 2013.

The City of Tulsa will present the final report from its recently completed Brownfields Area-Wide Planning Grant project at a public meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 22, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the City Council Chamber, 175 E. 2nd Street, Second Floor.
