A voice recorder is a great tool to use with your ESL or basic literacy adult learner.

·         Record the same reading on multiple occasions for comparison over time.

·         Send a recording home with your learner for a transcription assignment.

·         Record your learner and immediately play back for pronunciation help.

Tutors and adult learners can use poetry as a creative, fun way to explore words. Practice rhyming, syllabification, reading fluency and parts of speech. Here are some links to inspire a poetry-focused tutoring session:
