1933 Unemployment Relief Census

The OKlahoma Historical Society Research Center staff and volunteers have recently completed a database of Oklahoma records for unemployment relief. The database includes more than 100,000 names from 27 counties. These records are part of the William H. Murray Collection and include valuable genealogical details about Oklahomans including their name, race, age, nearest post office/address, number of dependents, occupation, and whether or not they needed relief.

The OHS website offers many resources for researchers and genealogists including select marriage and divorce indexes, the 1890 Oklahoma Territorial Census, Smith's First Directory of Oklahoma Territory, the Dawes Final Rolls, and much more.
