I'd like to see what was in the national news on the day I was born. Where can I find those headlines?

We have access to a New York Times database that allows you to view the newspaper page by page on any given publication date from 1851- 2003. This resource can be found by selecting the Alphabetical List of Resources in the library's Research and Learn tab. Under the N section of the list, you'll see three entries for the New York Times.

I need to pay a traffic ticket, apply for a passport, and find parking for my upcoming jury duty. Where can I go to find this information?

Maneuvering through the various city, county and federal courts in Tulsa can be a bit tricky, since they are located in different buildings, and it's not always obvious which agency handles what. To help you find your way through the system, our Research Center and Tulsa Organizations & Services Office has put together a resource called Navigating the Courts. To find this page, click on the Research & Learn tab on the library's home page and look for it listed in the Research by Subject box.

We're thinking of home schooling our children next year. Where can we find information to help us with this decision?

The library's Research Center has consolidated a number of resources on home schooling into one place. These materials will help you not only make a more informed decision about whether or not home schooling will work for you and your family, they will also lead you to several tools on getting started, putting together a curriculum, contacting Tulsa area home school organizations, and finding local services for field trips and speakers.

I'm thinking of switching careers, but don't where to begin. Can the library help me get started?

Yes, we have a database called Job Now which provides a number of resources to help people land a job. To access Job Now, go to our home page and click the large "Find a JobNow!" button, or go to the Research and Learn tab on the homepage and select the Alphabetical List of Resources, then scroll down to J to find the link.

I'm looking for a good book to read. Can the library help me find something that will fit my tastes?

Well, we can certainly give it a shot. The Tulsa library offers a service called Your Next Great Read, which compiles a list of books and authors for individuals based on their personalized reading preferences.
