July 4 Fireworks

Fireworks

Thursday is July 4. Independence Day festivities typically mean fireworks. If you're planning to shoot off fireworks do be aware of your city's ordinances, otherwise you might find your festivities spoiled.

It is illegal to discharge fireworks in the Tulsa, Owasso and Sapulpa city limits; however, these area cities allow for fireworks within the city limits with restrictions and with a permit:

Bixby: $20 permit available at licensed fireworks vendors or city hall through July 3. Allows for fireworks discharge 3-11p.m. July 2-5, 2013.

Broken Arrow: $20 permit available at city hall through July 3 or online through July 4. Allows for fireworks discharge 3-11p.m. July 3-4.

Claremore: $25 permit available at licensed firework vendors and city hall through July 3. Allows for fireworks discharge noon-11p.m. July 3-5.

Jenks: $20 permit or $50 for large groups available at licensed fireworks vendors and the Jenks water department through July 3. Allows for the discharge of fireworks 3-11p.m. July 3-5.

Sand Springs: $20 available at the fire administration through July 3. Allows for fireworks discharge 6-11p.m. July 3 & 5 and 11a.m.-11p.m. July 4.

Play safely.
