Tulsa's First Night Football Game: Tulsa Vs. Sapulpa At Lee Stadium, September 27th, 1929

On Friday, September 27th, 1929, night football made its debut in Tulsa at Lee Stadium. 5,000 spectators attended what Tulsans called "after-supper football." The October 1929 Tulsa Spirit reported that Oklahoma A. and M. was the the only other Oklahoma organization playing under floodlights at that time. A white football was used to "better aid spectators and players to follow its course without effort."
