Primarily days with occasional weekend shifts
Job Summary: 

Performs various duties for the physical maintenance and upkeep of Central and branch library facilities lawn and plant beds; may perform various duties related to the care of the library physical facilities, as well as day-to-day general building maintenance as required; performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions: 
  1. Maintains library grounds, planting and maintaining flower beds, and removing weeds;
  2. May perform lawn mowing and tree trimming as directed;
  3. Performs other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  1. Grounds keeping and plant care;
  2. Good communication and organizational skills;
  3. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Education & Experience: 
  1. High school diploma or G.E. D.;
  2. No previous experience required;
  3. Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License and clean driving record.

 

Physical & Environmental Conditions: 

Work involves considerable physical exertion, such as regularly lifting heavy items (up to 80 pounds) on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions.

Work involves the risk of discomfort, which requires special safety precautions, e.g., special care while working around moving parts, carts, or machines, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals.  There are routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness and unpleasant air conditions.  The job may involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances, such as cleaning solutions.
