The Sherman Miller Museum of Jewish Art will offer a special kids program, "Jewish Life and Folk Tales", on Sunday, August 4, from 1-2pm.
Join them for an hour of exploring the Alexander Kanchik exhibit in this interactive workshop for children. A quest through the exhibit will put the children’s minds to work as they explore the world of Kanchik’s art.
The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art is at 2021 East 71st Street Tulsa.

Not everything on the web is free and available to everyone! Here's a great database for families with young children, and it is free with your Tulsa City-County Library card. Access full-text popular school magazines and research sources, American Heritage Children's Dictionary and an image collection of 107,135 photos, maps and flags. All full-text articles are assigned a reading level indicator (Lexile). Go to: http://www.tulsalibrary.org/databases and choose "Primary Search".

Did you ever wonder... if your pet has a personality? That's just one of the daily wonders that are explored on Wonderopolis, a website for families with young children from the National Center for Family Literacy. We are so worried about kids' reading skills these days that we sometimes forget that kids need background knowledge to become readers too. It doesn't do any good if a kid learns to decode the word "personality" and has no idea what the word means!
