Mission
As Tulsa’s out-of-school-time intermediary, The Opportunity Project connects our city’s array of youth-focused programs, services, and curriculum-based efforts to provide pathways to success for children and youth. Grounded in research that shows learning beyond the classroom improves student success and equips them to reach future goals, The Opportunity Project offers Tulsa’s youth development community the tools and expertise needed to lift up young people in marginalized communities and broaden access to hands-on learning opportunities.
Programs and Services
The Opportunity Project funds and supports year-round out-of-school programming in partnership with Tulsa Public Schools, City of Tulsa, George Kaiser Family Foundation, the YMCA, The Wallace Foundation, Impact Tulsa, and Tulsa Community Foundation. Additionally, The Opportunity Project promotes and applies Tulsa Integrated Data System for Expanded Learning (TIDEL) and Social and Emotional Learning.
Our youth programs include – Relate918, AfterOpp, Ready. Set. Summer!, and HireUp. Additionally, The Opportunity Project has a free citywide interactive website called Tulsa City of Learning that connects youth and families to high-quality camps, clubs, and after-school programs.
