Mission
Tulsa Changemakers builds capacity in youth, adults, and systems to support youth in driving positive impact in Tulsa right now and into the future.
Our vision is a future where Tulsa is a model city for youth-driven impact. Youth are core catalysts for impact in their communities, and communities are actively engaged in identifying, developing, and empowering youth as leaders. Tulsa is consistently cultivating highly effective community leaders eager to empower successive generations.
Programs and Services
1) Listen, Listen, Act Afterschool Program: A semester long, 25-session afterschool and in-school youth leadership development and action program that empowers elementary, middle, and high school students to make meaningful change in their schools and communities.
2) Power of Youth: Our crash course in civic advocacy. It's designed for students in 6th-12th grade who want to make a positive change in our community. Through 5 Power Sessions and 3 Work Sessions youth learn critical skills in community advocacy and impact and then apply those skills for a cause of their choice.
Meetings are in-person at the Leadership Tulsa office at 1151 S Elgin Ave. The program is free of cost and is open to any student who lives in the Tulsa area and is in 6th-12th grade.
3) Training: We support people and organizations in building the skills and structures for activating youth power. We achieve this through Youth Power Trainings, Listen, Listen, Act Training, and additional customizable trainings.
4) Consulting: We support nonprofits and funders in building structure(s) for youth power in their organizations. Typically, in partnership with The Opportunity Project, this looks like supporting non-profits with the launch of Youth Action Teams (i.e. Youth Advisory Boards).
