Pratt Library Presents “Touch-a-Truck”

Families are invited to explore and discover dozens of big trucks and emergency vehicles during “Touch-A-Truck.”  Harry Pratt Library is partnering with Sand Springs Church of Christ, 4301 S. 113th W. Ave., to transform its parking lot into a wonderland of wheels, July 28, 10 a.m.-Noon.

“Children come to the library and check out a books and read about fire engines or dump trucks all the time. By providing an event where they can actually touch and sit in the trucks, honk the horns and talk to the operators, we are giving them an entirely different learning experience,” said Chris Lair, Pratt Library branch manager.  “This kind of experience can spark a child’s imagination and possibly even lead to a future career.”

Come and explore familiar neighborhood vehicles, including a fire truck, police car, military vehicle, antique truck and others. There will even be a food truck or two! A free book for each child who stops by the McDonald's table, and library goodies will be given out, while supplies last.

“Touch-A-Truck” is sponsored by McDonald’s and the Tulsa City-County Library, with additional support provided by the Mary K. Chapman Foundation and George Kaiser Family Foundation.
