September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when Tulsa City-County Library joins with libraries nationwide promote the most important card of all – a library card.
Tulsa City-County Library cards are available for anyone who lives, works or attends school in Tulsa County. During this promotional month, the $1 replacement fee for a lost library card is being waived. To obtain a library card visit any of Tulsa City-County Library’s 24 locations or use this link for an online application, http://www.tulsalibrary.org/application
Whether it is education or entertainment, with a library card you will enjoy access to eBooks, audiobooks, digital music, movies, newspapers and magazines. Students will benefit from live online homework help from expert tutors available 2-11 p.m. daily. You can even learn a new language with interactive lessons on Mango Languages learning app.
Libraries are an essential service for the nation’s children. Libraries bridge the digital divide by providing a full range of information and services to children and adult learners. By offering free access to important educational resources like online homework resources, access to online databases and eservices, libraries continue to evolve and find ways to bring value to our community.
Today’s libraries are not only a place of quiet study, but also creative and engaging community centers where students of all ages can collaborate using new technologies, learn how to use a 3D printer or just relax with peers.
Snoopy, the world-famous beagle, known as “The Flying Ace,” and “The Masked Marvel,” now has a new title “Honorary Chair of Library Card Sign-up Month.” Celebrating 65 years of making us laugh, Snoopy and the Peanuts gang can be found in more than 2,000 newspapers worldwide.
