Who can resist reading great books on a leisurely morning by the river’s edge?
Join Tulsa City-County Library’s Reading Roadshow for “Storytime in the Park,” Thursdays, May 9, 16, 23, 30; June 6, at 10 a.m. at the QuikTrip Plaza at River Parks, 41st and Riverside. The series concludes June 6 with a guest performance by Lucky Diaz and The Family Jam Band.
Each program features interactive stories, songs and activities to encourage children to develop an early love of reading. Bring a blanket or chair to enhance the storytime comfort. In case of inclement weather, check the library’s website, www.tulsalibrary.org for any Storytime in the Park cancellations.
After each storytime, children can sign up for the children’s summer reading program. By visiting the library four times and reading eight books, children will complete the program and earn a medal of achievement and a booklet of coupons for free entertainment and food items. Plus, they will be entered in an end-of-summer drawing for exciting prizes.
TCCL’s summer reading program for children is a fun way to keep kids reading throughout the summer and help them retain the reading skills they learned during the school year. Young children may participate by having books read to them.
“Storytime in the Park,” is sponsored by the River Parks Authority and Tulsa Library Trust.”
