The Jenks Library, 523 W. B St., will close for one week, March 16-22, for a remodeling to better serve the 21st century library customer.
Once reopen, the library will feature the New Service Model, which was created to structure and operate facilities and services in such a way that libraries remain sustainable and best serve the Tulsa County community into the future.
Renovations include new interior paint, carpeting, self-check stations, improved signage, reconfigured workroom and public workspaces, and a streamlined information desk.
“While the renovation is underway, holds for our customers can be picked up at the Helmerich Library, 5131 E. 91st St.,” said Cheryl Newman, Jenks Library manager. “When the Jenks Library reopens on March 23, we will have a bright, updated look to match our New Service Model for an improved library customer experience.”
The improvements are in response to customer input as Tulsa City-County Library created the facilities master plan.
The Brookside, Broken Arrow and Hardesty Regional libraries underwent improvements to the New Service Model in 2014.
