Tulsa City-County Library presents  Ignite Tulsa: Build a Better World Edition

 

   As part of Tulsa City-County Library’s adult summer reading program, you are invited to join Tulsa’s most creative people during “Ignite Tulsa: Build a Better Word Edition” June 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity Center.

   Described as an “open mic night for geeks,” Ignite Tulsa is an evening of networking, education and entertainment with lightning fast presentations on a variety of topics. Speakers have five minutes to talk about something they are passionate about using 20 slides set to auto advance every 15 seconds.    These local organizations also will have volunteer and information tables on how we can build a better world starting in Tulsa: Animal Rescue Foundation, Bike Hub, CAIR-Oklahoma (Council on American-Islamic Relations), TCCL Literacy, Oklahomans for Equality, Oxley Nature Center, Power of Partial Improvement, Reading Partners, Tulsa Data Science, TCCL Volunteer Office and YWCA.

   “We are thrilled to help host Ignite Tulsa at Central Library. The passion the speakers bring for their topics and share with the crowd inspire us all to go out and build a better world,” said Jennifer Greb, TCCL systemwide services director. “Not only will you be inspired, but you’ll experience an evening of fast-paced fun like no other.  This free event is not to be missed.”

   All ages are invited to participate in the summer reading program by registering at any library or online at http://www.tulsalibrary.org/Summer. Adults who read or listen to four books by Aug. 5 complete the program and earn a wooden tower game and a coupon book for free food and entertainment valued at $31.54.
