Join Tulsa City-County Library for a presentation and reading by children’s book author Nadia Salomon on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 2-3 p.m. at Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford.
This free event will feature “A Voice of Hope: The Myrlie Evers-Williams Story,” written by Salomon and illustrated by London Ladd. In this nonfiction picture book, Salomon tells the remarkable story of civil rights hero and activist Myrlie Evers-Williams. A book reading, Q&A and book signing will follow the author’s presentation. Activity sheets will be offered for children, and resources on Salomon’s book will be available for educators. Copies of “A Voice of Hope” will be available for purchasing, courtesy of Fulton Street Books.
Her whole life, Salomon has used writing to express herself and her thoughts. With a background in journalism, videography and television reporting, as well as songwriting and music performance, Salomon has been telling stories in a variety of forms throughout her career. Her award-winning debut picture book “Goodnight Ganesha” celebrates the nighttime rituals of two young children visiting their grandparents in India. Salomon’s third book, “A Rakhi for Rakesh,” focuses on sibling rivalry, forgiveness and the Hindu holiday Raksha Bandhan. It is slated for release in Summer 2025.
