Take a tour of the night sky during “Pop-Up Planetarium With Arkansas Sky Observatories” on Thursday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity Center.
The pop-up planetarium can seat up to 30 participants at a time, with multiple sessions occurring throughout the day. Travel through the night sky and learn how to find the planets and the brighter constellations from your backyard.
Participants can also enjoy NASA, space and Earth science exhibits. Exhibit items include meteorites, rocket models, astronaut autographs, rock and soil samples from around the world, fossils and more. Weather permitting, telescopes for viewing the sun and planets will be provided.
The program is part of TCCL’s 2019 summer reading program “A Universe of Stories.” The annual program, for children, teens and adults, is ongoing May 28-Aug. 3. Readers will enjoy free programs and chances to earn great prizes. To sign up, children and teens, newborn to 17, and adults can register at any of TCCL’s 24 locations or the bookmobile.
