Local vendors and auction items wanted for library’s literacy fundraiser

   Tulsa City-County Library is seeking local vendors, businesses and organizations to be part of the first annual VERSES event on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 6-9 p.m. at Central Library, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue.

   VERSES is an exciting new community affair benefiting the Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service. For the event, Central Library will transform into an enchanting night market featuring local small-press and independently published authors, artists and a variety of local vendors. Live poetry readings and spoken-word performances will take place throughout the evening, and guests can enjoy food and beverages from a variety of Tulsa eateries. VERSES will also include an online auction, opening two weeks prior to the event. 

   The library’s literacy department is accepting submissions for local vendors to sell wares at the market and for local businesses to auction off an item, service or experience. Those interested in participating should apply by Thursday, Aug. 10.
