Meet Crissle West! – Feb. 7, 6-8:30 p.m., Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford. Crissle West, co-host of the hit comedic podcast The Read and former Booker T. Washington student, will share tips on how to create a podcast entrepreneurship and develop a social-media following. She has more than 150,000 subscribers to her weekly podcast that covers the latest in entertainment news. For adults
Celebrating Black History Month: Black Migrations – Feb. 14, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Rudisill Regional Library. Join us for a table chat, coloring and film stream about art from Jacob Lawrence’s “The Migration Series,” which depicts the migration of slaves from the South to the North in search of a better life. Light refreshments and coloring sheets are provided. For adults.
“Black Panther” – Gather your family and experience the wonder of Wakanda during a viewing of “Black Panther,” a film about a black superhero with a universal theme of family, honor and justice. For all ages.

2019 African-American Heritage Bowl – Feb. 28, 6:30-9 p.m., Rudisill Regional Library. Come and cheer on your favorite team as high-school and adult community teams compete to answer trivia question about African-Americans in U.S. history. Located at the Rudisill Regional Library, the purpose of the African-American Resource Center is to collect, preserve and provide access to resources honoring and documenting the experiences of people of African descent. The AARC is devoted to providing the community with current and comprehensive resource materials and professional reference materials on the culture and history of African-Americans.
