We value your input!

We are committed to building a diverse and relevant collection that serves the needs and interests of our entire community.

Suggestions for purchase help the library understand what our customers are interested in and may influence future acquisitions, but they are not guaranteed to result in the purchase of the item. We review each suggestion carefully, taking into account a variety of factors like availability, cost, demand, and how well it fits with our collection policy.

While we value customer input and use it to gauge community interests, our goal is to prioritize titles that will have the broadest impact and appeal. By balancing individual requests with the collective needs of the community as a whole, we strive to build a collection that remains diverse, relevant, and accessible to everyone.

Due to the volume of requests, you will not receive a yes/no response to your request, and will not be able to track it in your library account.

Please note the following list of items we typically do not add to our collection:

  • Textbooks
  • Workbooks · Practice Tests (See our Online Learning Resources)
  • Pop-up, Lift-the-flap, books with removable pieces
  • Highly Academic Titles
  • Used copies from third party sellers
  • Bootleg or pirated recordings

A Note about Streaming Media:

Many streaming products, including certain TV series, feature films, digital audiobooks, and documentaries are released exclusively on digital platforms intended for the individual consumer and are not produced as physical media. Libraries are prohibited from purchasing these items because they are typically offered only through subscription-based streaming services.

The licensing agreements for streaming content through these platforms restrict its use to consumer purchases and subscriptions and do not extend to libraries. These agreements grant access to individuals rather than institutions and limit our ability to purchase or lend the content for public use.

As a result, our library can only include titles in our collection that are available in physical formats or through vendors who have negotiated licensing options for library lending.

Requesting audiobooks or ebooks:

To suggest downloadable audiobook and eBook titles, please use the "Notify Me" tag feature in Overdrive/Libby. This will help us better manage your digital content requests.

Not all titles are published in digital format and/or licensed for library lending.  If your deep search in Overdrive/Libby yields no results, it’s likely that the vendor hasn’t secured the licensing rights for that title.
