   To help children and families begin the school year ready to learn, TCCL is joining with community partners for two back-to-school community resource fairs.

Discover new cultures at the library during World in a Box Day

   Families can explore and learn about cultures from around the globe during “World in a Box Day” Aug. 3, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning and Creativity Center, Fifth Street and Denver Avenue.

Meet best-selling authors, sample local delicacies and support TCCL’s literacy program

   You are invited to spend an evening with three best-selling authors, enjoy delicious appetizers, and, best of all, support TCCL’s Ruth G. Hardman Adult Literacy Service.

Jeanne B. Goodwin Storytelling Festival brings imagination to life at the library

   The annual Jeanne B. Goodwin Storytelling Festival celebrates the rich tradition of sharing wisdom through words. All ages are invited to this celebration on July 10, 10 a.m., at Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford.

Ignite Tulsa showcases local visionaries at Central Library

   You are invited to join Tulsa’s most creative and imaginative people during “Ignite Tulsa” July 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. with light refreshments from Lambrusco’z Deli and original music by Hey Judy.

Explore the universe at TCCL with Arkansas Sky Observatories

   Take a tour of the night sky during “Pop-Up Planetarium With Arkansas Sky Observatories” on Thursday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Central Library’s Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity Center.    The pop-up planetarium can seat up to 30 participants at a time, with multiple sessions occurring throughout the day. Travel through the night sky and learn how to find the planets and the brighter constellations from your backyard.

Flood evacuees to be treated with TCCL summer reading program performer tomorrow morning

   Summer is supposed to be a time for relaxing and reading. A time to visit your local library to sign up for the summer reading program, earn great prizes and enjoy free programming.    The recent flooding in Green Country and in Tulsa along the Arkansas River has displaced hundreds of families from their homes and businesses, leaving their daily routines in upheaval.
