Tulsa City-County Library and Workforce Tulsa Join to Aid Job Seekers

  In an effort to increase job searching opportunities, Tulsa City-County Library has partnered with Workforce Tulsa.  Workforce Tulsa clients will automatically be registered for a Tulsa City-County Library card providing them access to valuable in-library and digital resources available at all 24 libraries throughout Tulsa County.  In addition, all library locations now serve as a Workforce Tulsa Access Point for job seekers.

Rudisill Regional Library Invites Families to Celebrate Kwanzaa

   Since the creation of Kwanzaa in the 1960s, the weeklong event has established itself as an annual celebration of community enrichment.    Families are invited to “Celebrate Kwanzaa” Dec. 26, 6-8 p.m. at the Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford.  This event is sponsored by the Tulsa City-County Library’s African-American Resource Center and the Tulsa Library Trust.

Tulsa City-County Library Presented Oklahoma Quality Award for Pursuit of Excellence

   Tulsa City-County Library was awarded the 2014 Oklahoma Quality Award for Pursuit of Excellence from the Oklahoma Quality Foundation at a presentation in Oklahoma City featuring Gov. Mary Fallin.      Tulsa City-County Library is one of five recipients for 2014 and is the first library system in the state to win an Oklahoma Quality Award.  The award recognizes Oklahoma businesses and organizations for their achievement in quality, business performance and best practices.

Tulsa Library Trust Receives $600,000 Microsoft Technology Grant

   The Tulsa Library Trust received a $600,000 Microsoft Technology Software Grant during a special presentation celebrating the grand opening of the Microsoft Retail Store at Woodland Hills Mall.    The grant was awarded to expand Tulsa City-County Library’s focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and learning opportunities.
