Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Tulsa City-County Library during a series of free family events honoring the colorful traditions of the Hispanic culture. The annual event is coordinated by TCCL’s Hispanic Resource Center. The design of the Hispanic Resource Center is to provide cultural, informational and educational resources, as well as activities and services for both Spanish- and English-speaking families. The center was established to meet the educational and cultural need of Tulsa County’s growing Hispanic community.

Storytime with Tulsa Shock @ Rudisill Regional Library

   Tulsa Shock’s Glory Johnson and Jennifer Lacy are set to take a timeout from the hard court for a storytime in the book stacks.    Storytime with the Tulsa Shock is planned for July 23, 2 p.m., at Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N. Hartford.  Both Johnson and Lacy will read their favorite books, and talk about the importance of maintaining a strong mental and physical balance.

National Day of Civic Hacking at Central Library

  Join the National Day of Civic Hacking at Central Library, Fourth Street and Denver Avenue, June 1, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., to learn about the benefits of civic hacking and help create the Tulsa Wiki, www.tulsawiki.org.    Community members can contribute for part or all of the day.  A wrap-up and drawing for door prizes begins at 3:30 p.m.  Learn the basics during Wiki 101 talks throughout the day, enjoy food from local contributors and create a strong sense of community.
