Meet Best-Selling Author Gordon Korman

   New York Times best-selling author Gordon Korman is the winner of the Tulsa Library Trust’s 2016 Anne V. Zarrow Award for Young Readers’ Literature.  He will accept the award at a public presentation at Hardesty Regional Library’s Connor’s Cove, 8316 E. 93rd St., Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m.  He also will present awards to winners of the 2016 Young People’s Creative Writing Contest awards at the ceremony.

Poll: Oklahomans overwhelmingly believe state should continue its portion of funding for state's libraries

An overwhelming 89.5 percent of Oklahoma likely voters believes library services are important to their communities and a nearly equal number (87.5 percent) felt that they and their family members, or others that they know of, get good value from their local library, according to SoonerPoll's Quarterly Poll.

Tulsa City-County Library CEO Gary Shaffer has been invited to join the United Nations' World Intellectual Property Organization's May meeting of the Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights in Geneva, Switzerland. What The Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award is an annual award given by the Tulsa Library Trust. Its purpose is to give formal recognition, on behalf of the Tulsa County community, to internationally acclaimed authors who have written a distinguished body of work and made a major contribution to the field of literature and letters. The award consists of a $40,000 cash prize and an engraved crystal book.
